We’ve got an easy, inexpensive recipe for a nail hardener that you can easily whip up from the comfort of your own home. Ready?
The recipe for stronger nails
At the risk of stating the obvious, nail weakness needs to be addressed by using some sort of strengthening solution. To that end, we’ve got a brilliantly effective treatment for you. Even better: it’s safe, natural and made from easily obtained ingredients such as lemon and garlic. The key component is vitamin E from capsules that you can buy from a chemists or a health food shop. Let’s look at it in a bit more detail, shall we?
Fragile nails, be gone
This fuss-free procedure is helpful even in the worst cases. Yes, this remedy should work even when your nails are especially weak due to bad health or vitamin deficiency.
- 3 peeled garlic cloves
- 20 drops of lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
- 1 vitamin E capsule
- Natural shine nail varnish (try to find one that doesn’t contain formaldehyde or phthalates)
- Easy-peasy. Squeeze the vitamin E capsule into the nail varnish container. Use a needle or safety pin to prick the capsule and pour its contents into the varnish bottle. Remember, you can buy vitamin E capsules in chemists or health food shops. For this remedy, one capsule’s all you’ll need. When added to your varnish, this essential vitamin makes it a health-giving, strength-imparting nail elixir.
- Now, you need your three garlic cloves. Garlic? Yes, it does sound odd, but garlic is one of the most effective natural ingredients for stronger, more resilient nails. The main reason it works so well is because it fights bacteria and mycosis. Soak the three garlic cloves in hot water for 15 minutes. When they’re warm and soft, grind them into a smooth paste.
- When you’ve got a workable paste, add it to your nail varnish container. To avoid spilling any of it, try using a small funnel or scoop.
Time for the lemon juice. You’ll need 20 drops. What’s so special about lemon? For your nails, it’s great because it’s packed with vitamins and antioxidants that go straight to work to defend the integrity of the nail structure and fight any processes that are trying to weaken it. It restores bit by bit. Add 20 drops of lemon juice to the other ingredients in your bottle of nail varnish.
- Now, you’re ready to rumble. You’ve got the vitamin-rich brew that is going to save your nails! Give it a good shake before you apply it, then brush it on evenly and thoroughly. It’s excellently effective for making them tougher, healthier and more gorgeous than ever.
- Ensure that you wear this nail varnish for at least a month, but give your nails a rest every three days. What we mean is that you should remove the varnish after three days. Let your nails and cuticles breathe for one day, then reapply your vitamin varnish. On your rest day, give your bare nails a nourishing massage with a simple blend of almond and olive oils. A teaspoon of each should suffice for both hands. Saturate a cotton pad with the oils and gently rub well into each and every nail.
